Late & Missed Porch Pick Up Policy
All orders are porch pickup only at your designated pickup time. Your cake will be placed in a labeled cooler on the front porch for easy, contactless pickup. Ice will be added to the cooler to help keep your cake fresh until you arrive.
Please plan to arrive as close to your scheduled time as possible:

On-time pickups: Your cake will be ready and waiting in the cooler.

Late pickups: Your cake will remain in the cooler until 5:00 PM on your designated pickup day.

Missed pickups: Cakes not retrieved by 5:00 PM will be considered forfeited without refund, as they are perishable and cannot be held overnight.
Once your cake leaves the cooler, Salem Cake Shop is not responsible for any damage, including mishandling. If you experience an issue, you’re welcome to reach out — we’ll always do our best to offer guidance or emergency assistance when possible. All cakes will come with “cake care” instructions which should be followed.
Refund, Return & Order Change Policy
At Salem Cake Shop, every cake is made fresh and customized just for you! Because of this, we have a no returns, no exchanges, and no refunds policy once an order has been picked up.
Order Cancellations & Refunds
- All sales are final. However, if you need to cancel your order, we offer a 75% refund as long as you notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before pickup are non-refundable, as your cake will already be in progress.
Order Changes
- If you need to make a change to your order, we ask that you contact us at least 48 hours before your pickup time. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but changes are not guaranteed.
- Any requests for changes made less than 48 hours before pickup may not be possible, as ingredients and decorations may have already been prepared.
Cake Creation & Photo Updates
We do not provide progress photos or updates during the cake-making process. Each cake is carefully crafted with attention to detail, and our focus is on bringing your vision to life with the highest quality. Rest assured, your cake will be ready for pickup at the scheduled time, beautifully finished and delicious!
Design & Artistic Interpretation
We do our best to bring your vision to life, but all cakes are handmade and may have slight variations from inspiration photos. Colors, textures, and decorations may differ slightly due to ingredients, lighting, and the natural decorating process.
Cake Taste & Quality
We take great pride in creating cakes that are both beautiful and delicious! If you have any concerns about the taste or quality of your cake, please contact us within 24 hours of pickup. While all sales are final, we truly value your feedback and want to understand any issues to ensure the best experience for our customers.
Allergy Disclaimer
Our cakes are made in a home kitchen that processes common allergens, including dairy, eggs, wheat, nuts, and soy. While we take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any cake is completely allergen-free. If you have a severe allergy of any kind, please don’t eat our cakes.
